Martin is a Managing Principal and Owner of Northwest Retirement Plan Consultants. His primary focus is client consulting and new business development for the firm. He has worked in the industry since 1983, and is particularly skilled in Cash Balance / Defined Benefit and 401(k) combination plans. He is a frequent speaker to CPA’s, Financial Advisors, and attorneys on advanced retirement plan design and related topics.
Martin graduated Magna Cum Laude from Seattle Pacific University with Bachelor of Science Degrees in Mathematics and Economics. He also holds industry designations through the Conference of Consulting Actuaries (FCA), the Joint Board for the Enrollment of Actuaries (EA), the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA), the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (MSPA), and the American College of Pension Actuaries (ACOPA). He has served on the Education and Examination committee for the National Institute of Pension Professionals and Actuaries, and the Governmental Affairs Committee of the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries. He is also a member of the American Mensa Society.
His favorite thing about NWRPC is the staff, and the dedication and energy level they bring to the offices. Martin spends his free time running, hiking, wine tasting, and spending time with family and his two golden retrievers. He also enjoys playing jazz music and blitz chess, and anything Sherlock Holmes.
